Our Story
Fresno Equipment Co. was established in 1961 with three locations: Fresno, Five Points, and Firebaugh. It was co-founded Mark Vucovich, who was previously the General Sales Manager for Pringle Tractor Co. in Salinas. The three stores replaced an existing location in Downtown Fresno that sold both John Deere and Caterpillar equipment. A few years after founding, Mark purchased the remainder of the shares and became the sole owner.
In 1967, the Firebaugh location was sold to the Thomason family. Mark Vucovich was good friends with the Thomasons and assisted with the transition, which lasted until 1969. Mark's children joined the dealership in the 1970s, contributing to its growth and reputation.
Mark Vucovich, known for his business acumen and strong ties with customers, passed away in 1980, leaving the business to his children.
The Fresno location relocated to its current site on Bagley Ave. in 1998. During the 1990s and 2000s, Fresno Equipment Co. adapted to changes in agricultural practices, shifting more focus to orchard and vineyard equipment.
In 2010, Fresno Equipment Co. was honored with the Baker, Peterson & Franklin AgriBusiness of the Year award. That same year, Marsha Vucovich acquired her brother’s shares, becoming the sole owner. Marsha's son, Reid Pinion, joined the business in 2014, bringing legal expertise and serving in various roles before becoming CFO and Operations Manager.
The company has grown significantly since 2010, taking on more orchard and vineyard specialty equipment vendors and expanding its precision agriculture department.
Today, Fresno Equipment Co.’s daily operations are led by Joseph Ayerza as General Manager and Jimmy Perry as Sales Manager. The company remains committed to its roots as a family-owned business, emphasizing personalized service and enduring relationships with customers.
Throughout its history, Fresno Equipment Co. has upheld a tradition of integrity and community support, continuing to serve the agricultural community with dedication and pride.
